Congratulations to our WEJ Chess Team (Florence, Jerry, Sri, Timothy, Michael, and Yixiao) for a fantastic showing at yesterday’s tournament at Earl of March! The team placed third out of eight schools, finishing just half a point behind second place and only two points behind first! Great job, everyone!

We are continuing in our fundraising initiative to support our local community by collecting new hats, mittens, and scarves. All donated items will be given to the Salvation Army and Chrysalis House.

Every year, students at WEJ enter the art competitions. Last year, my Grade 6s won 5 of the top 6 ribbons for the split-portrait! We’re going to enter again this year and cross our fingers to take home a few ribbons once again.
The school pays the registration fee for the students to enter the contest!

While we will be doing the split portrait at school, there are other contests Grade 6s can enter. I’ve copied and pasted the list below. Students have the option of making these at home or during their free time!
Anis from our class, who is very keen on fighter planes, found out that that is one of the contests, and he rushed home last night and ALREADY built a model to enter!
