On Thursday, we are very fortunate to have a guest speaker coming into our classroom to deliver a storytelling workshop. This is a wondeful opportunity brought to us by the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM). Fatemah Anvari is an incredible facilitator with a background in education and advocacy.
Title: Storytelling: Reclaiming Your Narrative
Time: Thursday, November 20th; 12-1pm
Description: In this engaging and creative workshop, students will use storytelling, writing, and art to explore how stories shape the way we see ourselves and others. Together, they’ll unpack common myths about Muslims and learn how to tell stories that reflect empathy, inclusion, and truth. Through these activities, students will also learn what it means to be an ally, standing up against all forms of hate and helping to build a more welcoming school and community for everyone.
