For our next unit in social studies, we will be looking at Canada and how it interacts with the rest of the world. We learn about international accords, treaties, and organizations that Canada is a part of. And we learn about how the federal government responds to different issues.

So what a perfect time to get to listen to our local Member of Parliament, Jenna Sudds, speak and answer our questions!

She will be giving a talk to the 5s and our 6s on January 22 at 9:15am.

📜My Family’s Story Project📜

In Social Studies, we are looking at the history of Canada’s peoples. As an introduction to this unit, we are going to share each of our family’s stories.

Due Date: Monday, September 22nd

Students will have to include:

WHO – who are you talking about?
WHEN – when did they travel to Canada?
WHERE – where did they come from?
WHY – why did they come to Canda?
WHAT – what happened on the journey? What did they think of Canada when they got here?
HOW – how did they get here?
