Every two weeks we will be looking at new spelling words and figuring out patterns in how different words are spelled.

For example, this week, the yellow group is looking at patterns that make a short A sound vs. patterns that make a long A sound; green group is doing a review of short and long vowel patterns; and the blue group is looking at prefixes and how they change a words meaning.

The spelling/word sort test will be on Friday, October 17th, and then a new word list will be given the following Monday. It’s a cycle that repeats every two weeks.

Their word work (green duotang) is also due in for marking the day of their test. These are practice activities to become familiar with their words and patterns.
